People fall in love and get married. But does anyone think about the fact that marriage is also a business agreement, in which two people decide to form a legally binding union or partnership that can only be undone through the legal system?

I think about this a lot because I work with many people who are considering divorce or are in the process of getting one. Time and again, the partner who makes the majority of the money bitterly laments that they may have to fork over a significant portion of what they have made if they go the divorce route.
